NC Research Campus Administrative ForumThe N.C. Research Campus Administrative Forum meets on the third Tuesdays of each month. Please contact Susan Stirewalt (susan_stirewalt@ncsu.edu) for more information or to RSVP.

The forum was developed as a networking event for administrative professionals to become more familiar with N.C. Research Campus partner programs, as well as to participate in Q&A sessions on campus and community topics. Forums include lunch and a featured speaker. Speakers are from private and public entities and have included representatives from N.C. Cooperative Extension, the City of Kannapolis and the N.C. Research Campus, among others.

Upcoming Forums

February 19, 2013 – 12 p.m.
Dr. Allan Brown, N.C. State University Plants for Human Health Institute – Brown will present an update on his research program involving fruits and vegetables at the N.C. Research Campus.

 

March 19, 2013
Dr. Francis Koster, President of The Optimistic Futurist (Charlotte, N.C.)
– Koster will discuss the issue of hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking,” a controversial method of extracting natural gas from the ground.

April 23, 2013
Ryan Dayvault, Kannapolis City Councilman
– Dayvault will share an overview of the history and current events of Kannapolis, including the renovation of Veteran’s Park and the construction of the city hall/public safety facility.

“Lunch and Kannapolis History Room Tour”
Location: Afton Tavern Express, NRI Building, 500 Laureate Way, Kannapolis, NC
– Come and tour with us after lunch to learn about the history of Kannapolis. This will be the last forum until after summer. The forums will start again in September.
