Muhammad Ali Abid
Postdoctoral Research Scholar
Bio
Dr. Muhammad Ali Abid works in Dr. Massimo Iorizzo’s laboratory as a postdoctoral researcher. His research focuses on the understanding of molecular mechanisms involved in the regulation and biosynthesis of secondary metabolite accumulation in plants, including anthocyanins, carotenoids, and organic acids. The ultimate goal is to identify genes and candidate mutations controlling secondary metabolite accumulation that can be targeted for DNA-assisted breeding either through marker-assisted selection or gene editing.
