Bio

Harry Schulz is a research technician for the Eroglu Lab and previously worked in the Kay Lab at PHHI where he supported lab personnel working to develop and implement methods for the analysis of metabolites using an LCMS. He is currently responsible for HPLC analysis of carotenoid content in samples and maintaining cell cultures to be used in toxicity and immune modulation assays. As with the Kay Lab he also supports researchers with their work in the wet lab and is responsible for lab management.

Schulz previously worked for the NC BioNetwork (which offers resources for businesses and schools including training, STEM promotion and lab services) in their natural products laboratory as a lab assistant preparing standards for analysis, designing a laboratory skills class for a local Community College and performing lab analysis of products. He also worked for a small natural products company that produced organic goldenseal tinctures and capsules, creating and updating documents and providing lab support including organoleptic analysis, moisture content, ash analysis, yeast and mold counts, microbial counts and assisting with method development. In addition, he worked for a small cosmetics company performing quality control and assurance testing during the manufacturing process. Interests outside of biology include jazz, art, food and travel.
