School Garden Workshop – Learning Centers

$35A school garden provides an opportunity where students can explore a dynamic learning environment. It provides a highly engaging classroom for students to explore all curriculum areas. This workshop will focus on using garden learning centers as an outdoor classroom management tool as well as to teach curriculum standards and critical thinking skills. The following stations will be featured.
- Weather Stations
- Reading Nook
- Nature Building
- Measurement
- Digging Beds
The workshop will be led by Amy Bowman and Doug Vernon. Both are former teachers and current NC State Extension employees focusing on STEM Education as part of the Plants for Human Health Institute.
