Roots & Shoots, Pods & Bods: Lesser Known Vegetables for Your Health (April 12, 2013)
Are there weird vegetables you’ve always wanted to try but didn’t dare? What do vegetables do for your health? How do vegetables taste raw rather than cooked? Why do we cook vegetables and are they as good for you?
The N.C. State University Plants for Human Health Institute and A.L. Brown High School will coordinate a vegetable tasting at the Rowan Cabarrus Community College STEM event, from 12:30 to 5 p.m., April 12, 2013. The event will be at the RCCC Building on the N.C. Research Campus, 399 Biotechnology Lane, Kannapolis, NC, 28081.
The event is part of the N.C. Science Festival. For a listing of Kannapolis-area events, visit www.cityofkannapolis.com/celebratescience. Come find out about vegetables that may be new to you and tell us what you think!
