Dr. Yu-Hung Hung is researching the molecular mechanisms that regulate the dynamics of epigenome during plant and animal development. Her research project focuses on DME-mediated active DNA demethylation, which is critical for embryo and endosperm development in Arabidopsis. Using genetic engineering, a series of transgenic lines are produced to study the in vivo function of these transgenes in the complementation assay. She also constructs DNA libraries for whole-genome bisulfite sequencing and uses computational tools to analyze the methylome of endosperm.
