Mario Maróstica-Junior

Bio
Mario R. Maróstica Junior has an undergraduate degree in Food Engineering from the University of Campinas, 2002 and earned his PhD in Food Science from the University of Campinas in 2006. He has conducted research at Leibniz Universitât in Hannover, Germany, in 2004 and Lund University in Sweden, in 2009. Dr. Maróstica-Junior is currently a Full Professor at University of Campinas, and works with the biological role of bioactive compounds. Beginning in 2025, he is working with Dr. Dragan Melinovik as a visiting international scholar.
Dr. Maróstica-Junior has received several scholarly recognitions including: CAPES Award: Best PhD Thesis 2007 in Food Science, UNICAMP Innovation Award 2021, and Clarivate Award 2022. He also serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Functional Foods and is a member of Choices International Foundation.
