More information about Changqing Zhang

Dr. Changqing Zhang is a senior researcher in the lab of Dr. Tzung-Fu Hsieh. He is trained in plant genetics and breeding and has expertise in transgene design, construction and transgenic plant analysis. Zhang has broad experience in dynamic technologies such as flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, FISH, DNA microarray and next-gen sequencing. More importantly, he has a genuine enthusiasm for research of epigenetics in seed endosperm.

Zhang received his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in 2006, where he studied to develop a novel technology for profiling gene expression in specific cell types. This involved labeling and sorting nuclei for use as a source of RNA for gene expressions analysis through DNA microarray hybridization.

Most recently, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas at Austin, studying small RNA and micro RNA population changes in hybrids between plants with different ploidies (number of chromosome sets).
