The N.C. Research Campus Catalyst Group is hosting a campus-wide research symposium on Monday, April 15, 2013. The event will feature guest speaker Dr. John Finley (USDA-ARS), a poster contest and panel discussions.

Agbiosciences drive economic growth, job creation in the Southern U.S.

Amid news of a still sputtering U.S. economic recovery, a report shows the nation’s agbioscience industries are growing, especially in the South. According to the study, agriculture, forestry and fisheries production generates $240 billion in regional economic activity within the Southern region and supports over 2.2 million jobs.

Scientists with N.C. State's Plants for Human Health Institute are collaborating with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on a joint project to establish new standards to prevent Salmonella contamination of tomatoes.

The Plants for Human Health Institute and A.L. Brown High School will coordinate a vegetable tasting at the Rowan Cabarrus Community College building on the N.C. Research Campus on April 12, 2013. The event is part of the N.C. Science Festival.
