Plants For Human Health Institute

Ms. Leah Chester-Davis is coordinator of communications and community outreach and an Extension communications specialist for the Plants for Human Health Institute (PHHI), including the N.C. Cooperative Extension component of PHHI. She provides leadership in strategic marketing communications, including media relations and the creation, packaging, marketing and delivery of educational programs. She founded and coordinates The Produce Lady program, which focuses on farmer and consumer education to help increase consumption of N.C. fruits, vegetables and other farm products. She is one of the coordinators of the N.C. Strawberry Project. Previously, she founded Cooperative Extension’s Successful Gardener program, including its award-winning newsletter. The newsletter has been packaged into “The Successful Gardener Guide,” a book released in March 2011 by Blair Publisher. She was a delegate to Terra Madre in Torino, Italy, in 2008.
